Generally, this means that they must allow service animals to accompany persons with disabilities into areas and locations where the public is allowed to go.<br /><br />In compliance with <a draggable="true" href="http://legislature.mi.gov/doc.aspx?mcl-37-303" target="_blank" class="anchor-inherit-styles anchor-text-decoration-underline">MCL § 37.303</a>, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights (MDCR) has created and provides voluntary service animal identification to qualifying applicants with disabilities and their trained service animals.<br /><br />Voluntary registration through this program is free of charge and may not be required as a barrier to entry for a trained service animal or their handler.
